ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
(Per Press Association.! Wellington, November 7. The body of a man was found in the harbour and identified us Duncan McColl, formerly assistant librarian at Parliament puddings. McColl iiad oeen working on a 1 (t. in at Warcotara and came acre for tne races. He was last seen on 25th October. 'I no body appeared to have been in the water aoout nine days, and the features wore unrecognisable. Taihapa, November 7.
Late yesterday afternoon John McLccs, aged 49, a single man, was killed while working in the busn, loghaulmg for Bennett- and Anderson's mill. He was riding on tiie rear truck. Tno ropo broke, and the trucks left the rails. A log rolled over, pinning McLees to the ground and killing him instantaneously. Ho was trying to apply the brake, but failed. His mates called out a warning to him to get clear, but lie persevered in his attempt to stop the Taihupe, November 7.
At the inquest yesterday on Everett, a verdict of 'suffocation ensuing on excessive drinking of brandy' was returned.
