A DESTRUCTIVE FIRE
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) (Received 4, 11.50 a.in.) Ottawa; November 3. A fire at London, Ontario, destroyed a large portion of the business section. The damage is estimated at £150,000, and 500 men have been thrown out of work. STOLEN MONEY FOUND. Ottawa, November 3. The sum of £25,000 in notes and gold have been found hidden underneath the sidewalk near the scene of the robbery from the Bank of Montreal at New Westminster, on September 15th. The robbers wore unable, to carry off the booty, and hoped to return. * Other notes have been found emulating in Eastern Canada. The police have renewed their activity, and the Pinkerton detectives are hopeful of tracing the thieves lyWRONGFULLY IMPRISONED. New York, November 3. At Chicago two'men serving seventeen years’ imprisonment on a murder charge have been declared innocent by ex-Judge Freeman, who sentenced'them. Steps are being taken to secure their release, it being alleged that they are victims of a police campaign to secure convictions at all costs. BILLIARDS. London, November 3. Gray and Stevenson have signed articles for three matches of 18,000 up, with bonzaline balls, the stakes being £SOO aside. It is suggested that a rubber he played in December, January, and February.
