STRATFORD CROQUET CLUB.

The fifth annual meeting of tho drove was held in the pavilion on Tuesday, October Hist. Tiie president ■Mrs. jungle) was in the chair. The report is as follows:—Your committee has much pleasure in presenting to you your filth annual report and in congratulating the club on a very satisfactory state of affairs, botli financially and otherwise. During tlio season tho club played seven matches, and of these won six and tied one. In tho winter a dance was held, the proceeds of which added considerably to the funds' of the club. Several improvements have been made, including the erection of a much-needed ;auk. The committee having secured ..ho services of a first-class man lor rolling and cutting the lawns for the oeaspn, hope to have them in firstlass order, and some interesting games are anticipated for the coming season. During the season several new members were elected, bringing tlio total im to over forty.

The report and balance-sheet were adopted. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Dingle for his valuable services, also to the president and secretary.

Mrs. Hingis’was unanimously elected president, Mrs. Munro vice-presi-dent, and Mrs. Hobbs lion, secretary. Committee: Mosdamcs Malone, King, Riera, and Reader.
