By Electric Telegraph.—-Copyrigi i.) (United Press Association.) Romo, November 1. Turkish reports of a crushing defeat of the Italians at Tripoli are officially declared to be baseless. CONFLICT! NG REFORTS. (Received 2, 9.30 a.in.) London, November 1. The Italian Embassy states that there has been no lighting at 1 ripoli since the 26th, but the Turkish Embassy asserts that the Turns penetrated into Tripoli on the 25th, and drove the Italians into the fco-.rn next day. Fighting was renewed on tho 28th, the -Italians evacuating two forts. FL RTHER DEN lALS. (Received 2, 10.35 a.m.) Rome, November 1. Indiscriminate slaughter at Tripoli is officially denied. It is asserted that the Arabs, after submitting, treacherously attacked tho Italians in the rear. Only those carrying arms, or who had undergone a regular trial, wore shot. Others favouring teachery, numbering 2200, were deported to Italian islands. In destroying the oasis shelter, care was taken to remove inoffensive Arabs and women and children. On the other hand, it had been clearly established that tho enemy committed abominable deeds on wounded Italians. Constantinople, November 1. Shevket Pasha, in denying the story of a crushing defeat by the Italians, states that the Turks recaptured several positions, and that the armies are now face to face.
