ITALIAN LOSSES,

Tripoli, October 28
The Italian losses in suppressing Monday’s outbreak in the town were 180.
A house-to-house search continues. Between forty and fifty Arabs are shot daily. Hie Italians will make no further advance till another 15,UU0 troops arrive. The Mussulman force behind Inpoii is estimated at 60,000. / Several thousands on Thursday attacked a position near Boumillian Wells. The Italians, being entrenched, waited until the enemy were within fifty yards, and then made a .bayonet charge. . . Three shells from tho warships tell amongst tho enemy’s cavalary. Tho Italian casualties wore 200. Turkish accounts state that the plan to surround the Italians was only partially successful, through a portion of the Mussulman troops acting prematurely. Tho Italians wero able to cut their way out, though they suffered great less.
Tripolitan Sheiks are summoning several thousand Gharbi rebels to resist tho invaders.
Enver Bey is reported to have traversed Egypt to visit the Scmissi tribesmen, who are expected to wage a holy war in tho Tripolitan hinterland. An aeroplane greatly assisted the Italians on Thursday by revealing tho enemy’s movements and enabling effective fire from tho warships. Arabs endeavoured !to shoot tho aeronauts.
Some Italian losses wore due to treacherous shots from the rear. Subsequently tho villages and huts in the oasis wore burned and the inhabitants removed to tho town. A hundred were deported. Some alnino soldiery wearing ski are traversing the desert. Rome, October 28. Newspapers express discontent _at tho Government censorship depriving the public of war news. GREAT SLAUGHTER. SIX THOUSAND KILLED AND WOUNDED. Tripoli, October 29. Twelve thousand Arabs and Turks wore engaged in Thursday’s fighting. They lost two thousand killed and four thousand wounded.
COST OF THE INVASION
(Received 30, 8.45 a.m.) Rome, October 29. Tho “Tribuna” says the Government’s reply to the exaggerated statements in the newspapers declares that the total cost of the campaign will not exceed four million sterling.
