THE FOXTON FATALITY.
FUNERAL OF FOUR VICTIMS. AN AFFECTING CEREMONY. (Per Press Association.) Palmerston North, October 25. The funeral of four of the victims of * the Foxton drowning tragedy, Mrs. Robert and Mrs. Grove and her two children, took place this afternoon. The town had been profoundly affected by the tragic nature of the happening, and fully two thousand people assembled at the cemetery, while crowds lined the streets traversed by the two funeral processions. Flags were flown at halfmast from public buildings and business premises, and the profoundest sympathy is expressed on all sides with the bereaved families. The ceremonies at the graveside were most affecting. Both were conducted by the vicar, Rev. H. G. Rosher, and many beautiful floral tributes were received, and messages of sympathy camo from all over the Dominion, including telegrams from the Premier and Hons. R. and T. Mackenzie. No trace has yet been found of the bodies of Miss O’Sullivan and the two Robert children.
