RIOTS AT THE BOOKING OFFICE. Sydney, October 23. Over four thousand people struggled and fought madly at the opening of the hooking office for family tickets for the circle to hoar Madame Melba. Only eight hundred tickets were available, and many who waited from three o’clock in the morning wore then disappointed. The crush amounted almost to a riot, and the police were unable to control the crowd until reinforced.
