Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, presided over a conference between .the Merchant Service Guild and , the Union Steam Ship Company and other companies, which was held in private to-day. Various matters were discussed for nearly two hours, and an adjournment was then made till to-morrow. Captain Watson rcS resents the Merchant Service Guild, lessrs Holdsworth, !)• Tike and G. Smith the Union Company, Mr Joachim the Westport Coal Company, and Mr McKellar the Blackball Coal Company.
