MONTHLY MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held yesterday. Present: Messrs. W. Armstrong (Commissioner of Crown Lands) in the chair, Heslop, Rattcnbnry, and i Kennedy. Leave of absence was to Mr. McClungage. Transfers.

One month’s extension of time was granted in which to register the transfer of section 4, block i , and section 1, block 8, Mimi, from H. ' Yett to R. H. Campbell. • J. Crown lands ranger, reported on the part of section 7, block 15, Ohura, applied for by W. Beard. —Boundaries approved as recommended by ranger. H. T. Twiss, ranger, reported on the application of C. E. Gooding for lease of section 11, block 6, town or ■Tuiroa.—Year-to-year lease granted at 6s_per annum. ■' T. C. Pookes, solicitor, applied on behalf of N. B. Fryday and A. Castle for extension of time to do improvements on section 7, block 13, Ohura. —ln ■ the exceptional circumstances tho period was extended until Jamiary, 1913. , The Under-Secretary for Lands advised that it was thought preferable for boards to sanction, direct transfers instead of sub-leases of sub-divi-sions of leases-in-perpetuity or renewable leases.—Acknowledged. The Receiver of Land Revenue forwarded a schedule of selectors in arrears with two or more instalments J of rent.—lf unpaid by; 21st November Board must take action. ' V W. S. Woof, on behalf of Kaeaea Salcyards Co., applied for section 19, black 2, Aria, as a site for saleyards. —Deferred for ranger’s report and valuation. spence and Stanford, solicitors, on behalf ,of S. A. Gooding, applied for a lease of section 50, block 10, Ngatiraaru. Mrs S. Myers applied for the same section.—Resolved to grant Mr Gooding a year-to-year tenancy at a rental of £l‘per annum. E. Tolme, ranger, reported on the; inspection of four holdmgs. Improvements required, £695; effected, £924. None in default for residence or improvements. H. T. Twiss, ranger, reported on the inspection of 38 holdings. Improvements required, £8475; effected, £16,295. Four had not effected sufficient improvements, three were in ' default for residence, and one for k residence and improvements. ■ ,-A plan of the-Tokiriraa-Harvey road K Obviation through sections 10, 12, 13, r\ 16, and 17, block 9, Ohura, was laid on the table.—Titles to lie amended accordingly. Stanford had failed to complete his agreement for renewal lease of section 19, block 3, Ngaere.-—The interest of Mr Stanford will lie declared forfeited at next meeting unless the amount of rent overdue and the cost of the renewal lease be paid before that date."—“News.”
