NEW METHODIST CHURCH

St. John’s Methodist Church at Kaponga was dedicated yesterday before a crowded congregation by the president of the conference, the Rev. C. W. G. Spence, Palmerston North. The new building is a handsome structure.
AGRICULTURE IN SCHOOLS
Timaru, October 16
The High School Board has accepted tenders for a new boys’ school, with special facilities for teaching agriculture, the total cost being about £350. The hoys have already * started some demonstration and experimental plots. The new school will be at the west side of the town, where the rector’s boarding-house is already in use.
A NEW CABLE WANTED
Timaru, October 16
The committee of the Chamber of Commerce has resolved to support the Dunedin Chamber in urging the Government to lay a new cable from Melbourne to the Bluff, and also to support the through inter-island booking by rail and steamer.
