The monthly meeting of the committee of the Chamber of Commerce will not lie held to-morrow evening. A full meeting of the chamber will bo held at an early date. A proposal is afoot to alter the railway train service which will- involve the midday train arriving at Stratford half an hour earlier and arriving at New Plymouth an hour earlier than at present, the 5.30 p.m. train being converted from a pasengor train to a goods train with a passenger carriage attached. At a rial meetingtor o mmcrce a letter was received from the District Traffic Manager asking the Chamber’s opinion on the proposed change, and it was decided to approve the suggestion. At the last meeting of the eommitjteo of the Chamber of Commerce it 'was decided to send a letter to the Postmaster-General through the member for the district urging the establishment of a mail service from Whangamomona to Ohnra. Word has now been received from Mr Mine stating that, the letter has been presented to the Minister. At a public meeting held at Wliangamornona on Thursday last the following resolution dealing with the matter was passed :—“That tins meeting urge on the Government the necessity of establishing a mail service from Wliangamornona to Ongnruo and also telephonic communication between Tahora and Tutu; and that the Stratford and Now Plymouth Chambers of Commerce bo asked for their co-operation in the matter,”
