TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

SPRING SHOW ENTRIES. / The entries for the factory butter competitions to take place at the Taranaki Agricultural Society’s forthcoming spring show, close on Saturday, tlie 14th inst., and from a perusal of the schedule, with such valuable prizes set forth therein, good entries should be received by the secretary. Class I. is for export butter, and the prizes offered include a 75 guinea cup, besides £l7 17s cash; Class 11. ,also for export butter, commands a 25 guinea cup and £6 6s in cash. The tliird class is open to Taranaki factories only, who subscribe £i each towards the prize money, the total of which is divided between prize takers. The alteration in the conditions this year, of the selection of the butter is all in favour of the makers, ;is they have the right to nominate the day’s make from which the Society’s nominee shall select the number of boxes required for each competition. Butter makers should support these competitions, as it not only brings the factory they represent before the public, but hHps to increase the prizes every year, and this can only be expected when good entries are received each year.
