Tho Dunedin .Jockey Club’s spring meeting opened to-day in splendid weather, and tho attendance was large. The patrol stewards reported R. li. Ellis, rider, of Adjudge, for crossing in tho Electric Handicap, and it was decided to caution Ellis and inform him that a repetition would lead to ihe cancellation of bis licence. The totalisator investments were £8758 LOs, which is £1350 ahead of last year’s figures. Results:— —Spring Hurdles, Iff miles.—Redmond 1* Gold Pin 2, Ito 3. Also started : Ring-man, Freak, and Simon Pure. Won bv .about a head. Time, 2min. 2 3-sse*c. Trial Plato, 6 furlongs.— Somersault 1, Troon 2, Red, White and Blue 3. Also started: Optimeform, Malmri, Nikar, Obi, Baron Lowborn, Muircock, Summertime, Quota, Good Time, Spoybank, and Pleasure Bent. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin. IS 3-ssec.
