DARING BURCLARIES.

(Per Press Association.) Palmerston North, October 7

A daring series of burglaries were perpetrated in Palmerston last night. \ r o fewer than five shops in tho Bqua.ro were entered from a right-of-way in the rear. The places burgled were Mowlem, tobacconist; RicJiardson, boot store; AVcstmoreland, sta.ioner; and Haven lull’s land agency. Iho intruders ran riot among goods, scattering articles and damaging appliances. Nothing of great vale was stolen. Evidently the burglars were after money. The operations were rather those of amateurs.
