The Lyell miners have had another conference with the directors, and definite proposals for a settlement will be submitted. The men’s terms were disclosed, but it is known that the manager gave an assurance that he was unaware that White was an official of the Union when sacked. He took action solely because of a broach of discipline. The prospects of a settlement are bright. DUBLIN TIMBER STRIKE SETTLED. (Received 7, 9.20 a.m.) London, October 6. The Dublin timber trade strike has hocn settled, and all the men have been reinstated except those who misconducted themselves during the strike.
