Tho Hawke’s Bay Jockey Clnb’s spring meeting opened to-day. The weather is fine but dull. Tho course is in good order. The attendance is large, including the Governor and suite. Results:— Tomoana Hack Hurdles.—Espartero 1, Polynices j2, Morcambe 3. Scrached: Tina Toa, Waipureke, Fond Meinbi-y, and Longboat. Won. by a neck, six lengths between second and third. Scots Fusilier fell and broke his leg. Cullinan lost his rider. Maiden Hack.—Outward 1, Ovation 2, Loch Mabin 8. Scratched Formulate. Won by a length. Time, Imin. 28sec. Flaxmere Hack Handicap.—Meremcro 1, Gold Circle 2, San Pluie 3.
