TOKO NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

A most enjoyable function took place in tho Toko Coronation Hall on Friday evening last, the occasion being the holding of the bachelors’ ball. About thirty-five couple tested the excellent floor, which was all the more appreciated, as Mr. Murray Fowler, ol Inglewood, had charge of the piano, the music being perfect. An excellent spread was served in the supper room, and the bachelors felt quite elated a ith tho manner in which their efforts were apparently appreciated. Messrs. Geo. Morrison and L. Richards, as M.C.’s, and Messrs. J. Ritchie and J. Brennan, as joint secretaries, were always on the alert carrying out their lespective duties. Several dancers appeared in fancy dress, the most notable being Mrs. Gernhoefer (Fashions), Miss Burgham (Japanese Lady), Miss W. Corbett (Road to Ruin), Miss J Corbett (Night), Messrs. M. Urquhart (South African Trooper), J. Brennan (Red Indian), R. Bennett (Referee), T. Goldnp (Novice), Cecil Burgham (Boy in Blue). At tho conclusion of the dance in tho usual small hours, Mr. W. Pearce, on behalf cf the married folk, thankooVtho bachelors for the pleasant evening provided.
