Official circles are alarmed at the Italian Vice-Consul at the Dardanelles boarding the Societ.i Nazionalcs’ steamer Romania, compelling the missengers for Constantinople to lan 1 within half an hour, the Romania returning to Italy without landing mails. It is feared that Turkish resentment will be vented in Bosnia and Herzegovina. FRANCE’S ATTITUDE. London, September 25. There are indications that France will be benevolently neutral in the Tripolitan question. ITALY’S INTENTIONS. (Received 26, 8.5 a.m.) Rome, September 25. The Reservists born in 1888 number 90,000. Italy seeks to lease Tripoli, and offers to maintain Turkish suzerainty. In the event of a refusal or menace to Italian safety, Italy would send 00,000 troops. The Turkish garrison at Tripoli is estimated at 30,000. London, September 25. The “Morning Post’s” Berlin correspondent states that the Turko-Itali-an quarrel is the result of the Agadir incident, and is calculated to neutralise the advantages Germany expected from a careful nursing of Younk Turkey ; also a reconciliation of Turks with Austria-Hungary, and the encouragement of Austrian and Turkish naval ambition. According to “Matin” Turkey, after refusing to release Tripoli, an too need that if Italian warships were sent there, she would,expel 50,000 Italians ’who reside in the Turkish Empire, and boycott Italian trade.
