» HUSBANDMAN. One of the fayomite sires cf this season in these parts, will be Husbandman, by Tradmill Golden Vale, owned by Mr. J. Davidson. As a two-year-old ho won the Lyttelton Stakes and the Dunedin Champagne Stakes, and was second in the C.J.C. Champagne. As a three-year-old he won the Canterbury Derby, Great Northern Derby, Biccarton Welter Handicap, and St. Andrew’s Handicap (Feilding). As a four-year-old he won the Autumn Handicap (Wellington). Danube (standing this season at a thirty guinea fee) was also beaten by Husbandman as a four-year-old, anu with Bst. up, he defeated the speedy Lady Medallist, the mare carrying 7st; olb. in the Autumn Handicap. Altogether he has won stakes amounting to £2980. A notification from the owner appears in this issue. FOREMOST. Another fine animal announced to be at the service of brcedefs.this season is Foremost, the thoroughbred horse from Forme—Phoebus Apollo. He has a pedigree which at once removes any doubt as to the purity of his blood* Ho comes from the great family from which Multiform, Uniform''* (a very successful sire in South Africa), and Cruciform came, while Apologue, the Melbourne Cup winner, is by his sire. SILVER SPEC. Mr. T.* Carson, who now makes his headquarters at the Crown Stables, Stratford, announces the old favourite “Silver Spec” to be at the service of breeders this season. This wellknown coaching stallion has sired the winners of prizes at all the principal (North Island A. and P. Shows for the past five years. A notification regarding “Silver Spec” appears in another column. HORSE PARADE. On Saturday next, September 23rd, the Egmont *A. and P. Association will hold its annuad Supplementary Parade on Mr. T.
