THE HON. T. MACKENZIE.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, September 12. Speaking to a “Post” reporter today in reference to the seat he was likely to contest at the coining elections, the Hon. T. Mackenzie said the position was that the alterations of the Taiori scat appeared to him to he so absurd that ho could hardly believe but.that the Commissioners will put it right. Should this lie done, or was oven largely restored, lie was forced to stand for that seat. If, however, nothing was done in the direction indicated, he was not likely to stand for any country seat in New Zealand that might wish his services. He was. naturally desirous of continuing the work of the Department with which ho is associated. He could see that with an intelligent, scientific and forward movement in • agriculture, there is a prospect of doing much good for this community. The two and a half years ho had been Minister had iieeii a period of preparation for greater effort. “I naturally wish,” added the ing community, and hope that such a sphere may be available lor me at next election.”
