PRIMITIVE METHODISM.
A largely attended meeting of the officials connected with the Stratford Primitive IVJothodist Circuit was held in the Broadway schoolroom yesterday. The various departments of the church were found to be in a healthy condition, and the outlook bright. New members were added to the roll and a new preaching place decided upon. The balance-sheet showed a small debit owing to the wet Sundays experienced during the quarter. The Rev. B. Metson was unanimously invited to remain as superintendent minister for a fourth year. Kindly words were spoken on behalf of the officials arid members by Mr J. Martin, circuit steward, in extending the invitation, and the wish expressed that their request should be granted. Mr Metson thanked the friends for their kindness and signified his acceptance of the invitation, subject to the decision of conference. -The following ’ delegates were appointed to the District Synod to be held at Wanganui on October 19th, 1911: Rev. B. Metson, George Collingwood arid John Martin. In the evening a nice gathering listened attentively to the following programme :—Solos: Miss C. Sanders (2), Mr and Mrs Richards and Mrs E. Hancock. Duet: The Misses Butcher. Addresses: Rev. N. Hyde, of Auckland, Mr G. Collingwood, and Mr J. Martin. The choir' rendered two anthems most creditably, and Mr R. H. Robinson delivered a reading. An inviting supper was prepared by the ladies, to which full justice was done by those present.
