Melbourne, September 7. In the House of Representatives the debate on the address-in-reply disclosed that the secret commission appointed by Mr Tudor has been some time securing evidence in the iron industry with a view to the Government’s intention of starting Federal iron works, probably in South Australia. Sydney, September 7. In the Assembly, there were several warm passages at arms between the Speaker, Mr Wade and other Opposi tionists, over the Speaker’s stringent rulings. The motion of dissent war therefore negatived by 35 to 30. The censure debate is unfinished. (Received 8, 9.30 a.m.) Sydney, September 8. During a heated debate in the Assembly, Mr Cohen declared that Messrs Holman and Beeby, during Mr Me Gowen’s absence, put out feelers ir regard to the possibility of forming a Government consisting of Moderate members on each side. Mr Beeby denied the statement. (Received 8, 10.55 a.m.) Sydney, Soptetmber 8. Cabinet has been rearranged—Mi Beeby, Lands; Mr Carmichael, Education; Mr Treflo, Agriculture. Hobart, September 8. The Premier’s financial statement shows a deficit, of £-10,871.
