On Saturday last we conducted otiv first auction sale at our rooms, Broadway, and take this opportunity of thanking the general public for their support which made the sale the success it was. Poultry came forward in fair numbers, and met with good competition, the demand considerably exceeding the supply. AA'e quote:— Roosters, Is laid to os Gd; hens, 2s to 2s 7d; purebred Leghorns, 3s Gd to Is; pullets,' small. Is 7d to 2s Gd ; Leghorns, up to 4 s 3d ; ducks, 2 s to 2s sd. There is a strong demand for all classes of killing birds. Produce; Cauliflowers, 4s 2d to 7s 3d per don; cabbage, 2s 9d to 3s Sd dor.; carrots, 2s Gd sack (good demand) ; swedes. Is Gel sack; rice meal, 7s 9d 1401 b sacks: pollard, 11s 1501 b sacks; wheat, broken. 4s 2d sack. Large quantity of furniture, crockery, drapery, milkcans, and sundries, at usual auction rates.
