(Per Press Association.) Nelson, August 31. Information was received in town to-day that a child named Kuss, the daughter of a resident of Tui, succumbed to injuries sustained through its nightdress catching fire. Dunedin, August 31. At 1 o’clock this afternoon Mr John Edmond Hay, 76 years of age, boarded a tram-car at Cargill’s corner. Just as the car reached the shed points he leaned over towards his wife, who was sitting beside him, and suddenly expired. Hawera, September 1. While riding homo from school on Monday two children of Mr Lovell aged 8 and 5 years were thrown from the pony, which bolted. Both received injuries to the head. The younger boy took a bad turn on Wednesday and was operated on the same evening, but died this morning. The elder child is progressing satisfactorily.
