WATERSIDE WORKERS.

AND THE OSBORNE JUDGMENT. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, August 31. At tho Waterside Workers’ Conference, Mr Goodall (Greymouth) proposed that delegates approach candidates for Parliament in their various districts, and request an undertaking to support legislation to make the Osborne judgment ultra vires in New Zealand. Mr T. Smith (Wellington) stated that he had seen in Wellington a Bill, to come before Parliament this session, which was a facsimile of tho Bill now before the House of Commons. If this became law it would enable unions to use their funds for political or other purposes, as they choose. The motion was carried.
