Lamb.—The market is speculative, and there is an inclination to force sales. There is a fair local demand. Canterbury s§d, other, than Canterbury ojd. Beef.—The market is depressed and the stock is heavy. New Zealand hinds fores 2gd. Butter.—The market is firm .owing to reduced supplies, and there is general active demand. Australian 3215, Danish 140 s, Siberian 120 s.
Cheese.—The market is - very firm, and there is good demand. New Zealand 665.
Homp.—The market is very quiet. New Zealand good fair, per ton on spot, .£2O; New Zealand fair grade £l9 (forward shipment at same price), fair current Manila on spot £l9 15s (forward shipment £2O 10s). The outSut from Manila for the week was 3,000 bales. Cocksfoot Seed.—The market is quiet. It is reported that the Continental crop is medium in quantity, and of good quality, and selling at 655. Wheat.—The market is very quiet, and nothing is doing. New Zealand long-berried wheat on spot ex granary per quarter of !961bs, 345, shortberried 33s 6d. Oats.—The market is steady, and fair business is doing. New Zealand sparrowbills on spot ox granary, per quarter of 3841b5. 20s 6:1; Danish, per quarter of 3201b5, 17s 6d. Beans.—The market is very quiet, and the supply is practically exhausted. New Zealand beans, f.a.q., (old crop), per 5041b5, 345. Poas.—The market is overstocked and depressed.
