A miner, named Harry Bullock, while working at the (hand Junction Mine, received terrible injuries to his head, face, and other parts of his body its tho result of an explosion in the winze. Bullock was using a pick and struck an uncxplodsd charge in a hole. He is not expected to recover. Auckland, August 21. Thomas Brooking, aged 55 years, who was suffering from insomnia, died at Mangcrc last night. it is supposed that ho died from the effects of a dose of cai oolic acid. Brookin;, was a recent arrival from Taranaki.
