She also wore a beautiful gold bangle, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid was Miss F, Burkett, who was also attired in a cream serge dress with a black hat, and wore a gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was presented with a gold pendant by the bride, and was supported by Mr E. S. Coleman (brother of the bride) r.s best man. A number of guests were afterwards entertained, when afternoon tea, bridal cake (an artistic three-decker supplied by Mesdames Kerr and Mcßain) and wine were provided.’ The couple left by the afternoon train for Wanganui and Blenheim, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride’s travelling dress was a navy blue tailor-made sostume. The presents wore numerous, costly and useful.
