The Townsville Waterside Workers’ Union has notified the shipping companies that if they continue to employ non-unionists on the wharves all union labour will be withdrawn forthwith. A serious development is expected to-morrow. THE LITHGOW DISPUTE. (Received 2-1, 9.55 a.m.) Sydney, August 24. An abortive conference has been held in collection with the Lithgow dispute. Mr. Hoskins declines to dismiss the non-unionists, and the unionists refuse to consider a settlement on any other terms.
