There have been many tributes in | the press by public men to Cardinal Moran as a great churchman, administrator and statesman. Numerous messages of sympathy have been received. The Government, to mark its respect, issues a special black-bordered ’“Gazette.” By the death of Cardinal Moran, Archbishop Kelly, who was appointed his coadjutor, succeeds him as Archbishop. This does not mean of itself that he will become Cardinal, that resting entirely with the Pope.
