WRECK OF THE FIFESHIRE
SYDNEY PASSENGERS AND CARGO. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. ’United Press Association. Sydney, August 15. The Fifeshirc took twenty-three passengers and a large quantity of sugar from hero. The Sydney cargo was insured locally for between £20,600 and £30,000, distributed between many offices. (Received 16, 9.15 a.m.) Aden, August 15. The Fifcshire is lying on sand and coral, in nineteen feet of water, broadside on to a heavy swell. Her bolds are flooded, and the vessel is bumping heavily. She stranded on the evening of the 9th, and was abandoned at noon on the 11th. Woods’ boat has 'not been seen since leaving at noon on the 10th ; Caulfield’s was last seen at midnight on the 11th, seven miles south of Guardafai. (Received 16, 8.0 a.m.) London, August 15. The following is the list of the Fifcshire passengers irr tire missing boats: From Sydney, Mr Man nix, Modamos Dale and Mannix, Miss Owen; from Brisbane, Mr White or Wright, wife, son and daughter, Mrs and Miss Bladen. The following members of the crew were irr the boats,: Chief Officer Woods, Second Officer Caulfield, Engineers MacKinnon and Laird, and sixteen sailors. (Received 16, 9.0 a.m.) Sydney, August 16. The Underwriters’ Association has been advised that the Fifsshire is a total wreck.
