AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. Much interest has been aroused in the picture “A Royal Divorce,” which is to be shown at His Majesty’s Theatre this evening. The film deals exhaustively with the life of Buonaparte, all his more notable battles being represented. The staging and dresses in the noted divorce scene and at the nuptial ceremony are magnificent. The battle views with’ Napoleon surrounded by his suite, giving his orders calmly while shells are ploughing up the ground on all sides, convey realistic impressions. In one instance the cavalry sweep round in full view of the camera, as they with drawn swords pull themselves together for a. charge against the foe. The educative value of the film cannot brit impress those who witness ‘“A Royal Divorce.” “A Royal Divorce” will be shown this evening only. WEST’S PICTURES. To-night West’s Pictures will submit their weekly change of programme at tire Town Hall. The conspicuous attraction, of course, is tire topical event, “The King’s Coronation,” as viewed through the eyes of cameras, “potted” at such favourable points of vantage that the people in the Town Hall, thousands of miles aw,ay, and seated comfortably and enjoying the various scenes without enduring the heat and burden of a day of processions and festivities, wore really very much better off, as spectators of a great event, than their Old Country cousins, who stood cin the footpaths and craned their necks to catch glimpses of the reality. The rest of the programme is made up of pictures of the usual high standard submitted at tire Town Hall, and patrons can safely rely on getting the worth of their money.
