In the Danncvirke case, in which Francis Hasoklcn sued Andrew Johnson for the return of £IOO deposit on an exchange which was not completed, Norman Gurr stated that ho had expected to receive 2.V per cent, commission from both parties in accordance with the Chamber of Commerce rule. Sir R. Stout said he had never hoard of 24 per cent, for each party in the Soutn Island. Counsel said ic had been legally recovered in these courts. Judgment was reserved. AUCKLAND SESSIONS. Auckland, August 16. In the case of Fredk. Shortland, of Taumarunui, versus Dr. Stanley Bull, of Auckland, claiming £598 damages for alleged unskilful treatment of bis wife, the jury returned a verdict for plaintiff for £lB9 10s. Judgment was entered accordingly with costs.
