A HIGH TRIBUTE
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, Aaigust 15. At the A. and P. Associations’ Conference to-day, Mr. A. S. Orbell, in his presidential address, made reference to the fact that the Taieri seat had been selected by the Boundary ' Commissioners as the one to go. Mr. Orbell said that as an Otago man, ho could only say ho was certain that intense feeling of regret would he felt throughout the whole of Otago when fciio people of that province read in the previous day’s papers that Mr. Mackenzie’s electorate had been wiped out. Addressing Mr. Mackenzie, he continued: “Should yo decide to woo another electorate, 1 am sure the farming community in both islands will wish you success. They recognise the good work you have done in your department wliile - Minister in charge. If it should be, on the other hand, that you would like a holiday from the worries of the platform, I should like to suggest to the powers that be that if tney .wish to make an appointment that would ho extremely popular with the farmers throughout the Dominion, they need not go past the Hou.
