A FATAL SLIP.
MOTOR BOAT TRAGEDY. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, August It. A man named Ralph Lonnard 'Wakefield, between >'lo and 10 years of age, slipped from the bow of his motor launch at Huia, Mauukau harbour, this afternoon. The engine was running, and Wakefield was unable to grab hold of his launch, there being no one else in the craft to throw him a line or stop the engine. The accident was noticed from the shore, but before assistance arrived the body laid sunk, and so far has not been recovered.
