ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
(Pei' Press Association.) Wellington, August 13. William Johnson, a married man, and a very old resident of Wellington, and well-known in tiie building trade, was found dead in hod yesterday. He rented a room at No. 7, Hopper Street, from Mr Ludwig Koch. His wife is visiting England at present. Deceased had been in'bad health lately, having suffered from gastritis, and it is stated, that he had worried over money matters!. At 5.30 p.m. on Friday, he telephoned Mr J. W. Evans, painter, of Cuba Street, and said good bye, adding that he would not sec him agaih. Yesterday morning ,at 9.10, Mr Evans and Mr- V. Jensen went to In's room and found him in bed quite dead. A bottle which had contained prussic acid was lying by. At the inquest to-day a verdict was returned of suicide while of unsound mind. James Joseph Martin, expressman, died in the hospital to T day as a result of injuries received through falling from his express on August 4th. An inquest is being held this afternoon. Auckland, August 14. The dead body of James Robertson, aged 38, a baker, who had been missing since August sth, has been found in the harbour. Gisborne, August 14. William Milne, engine driver, died suddenly at Ixanaekahaia, being found in a paddock suffering great pain. An inquest was dispensed with, the coroner being satisfied that death was due to natural causes.
