—n (Received 11, 10.15 a.m.) London, August 10. Some London streets are as quiet as on Sundays. Commercial vehicular traffic has ceased. Extra police have been drafted to strike areas. Crowds at Paddington prevented vans leaving there: There have been may isolated cases of personal injuries and arrests. Frail porters at billingsgate refused work unless 2s per hour is paid. The masters goneeded lire demand. :Mr. Wld-wvith has arranged a settlement. with the coal porters, an agreerneKt’khaing signed giving increased wages and other concessions. Tire corn lit inns at Liverpool are rapidly becoming worse. Detachments of the Warwickshire Regiment and BUG. -.lrish .Constabulary -have arrived. There wore riotous scenes at 4,-hp. central slat ion. Heavy drafts are already moving from Aldershot to Loudon.
