CHRISTCHURCH NORTH SEAT.

DEPUTATION TO MR ISITT. -- (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, August 1. A large deputation of Christchurch. North electors waited on the Roy. L. M. Isitt with a request that he should outline his views on political matters. Mr Isitt said lie had had many arguments with Mr Taylor on political matters, but their views on important matters in politics were similar. Tho speaker indicated that lie opposed tho further sale of Crown lands, and added that he wanted it distinctly understood that ho would only go to tho House as one who was free from any compact with any Government or party. He would go there to listen to legislative proposals brought forward, and vote upon them as his mind directed and Ids conscience dictated. Various committees were formed to further Mr Isitt’s election. Dr. Thacker has not yet decided to contest the seat, but gives a definite reply to-morrow afternoon. If ho stands it will bo as an Independent. Liberal.

So far the Labour Party has not made its selection, but it is understood will do so on Friday night.
