CHRISTCHURCH NORTH SEAT.

FILLING THE VACANCY. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 31. This afternoon the Speaker of the House of Representatives received a formal notification that the death of Mr T. E. Taylor, late member for Christchurch North, has been registered. The House will he asked to pass a resolution ordering the issue of a warrant to clerk of writs for an election. The writ will bo returnable within 21 days, and as a week nmst ho allowed for a possible second ballot, the date of election must he about a fortnight hence. Christchurch, July 31. The candidates selected for the Christchurch North scat are Rev. L. M. Isitt (No-License candidate) and All J. D. Hall (Opposition). The Labour Party will meet on Friday to consider the matter of the selection of a candidate.
