The sub-commit-tee which met the company’s representatives was instructed to recommend ai Initiators to the Council, the terms ol the agreement lining that a sum be paid tor goodwill and that 11 its plant be taken o'er at a valuation decided on by arbitration. On two previous occasions the Hoiousdi Council has approached the compunv with a view to purchasing its works. On the first occasion the parties failed to agree as to the basis or agreement, and on the secon I octuofou when the matter was discussed the parties could not agree on Iho price to be paid for goodwill, the company asking for_£sooo and ll o • Borough offering .■£2500.
