ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

(Per Press Association ) Feilding, July 19. Mrs W. A. L. Bailey, wife of a very old-settler, died last nigh tinged 65 years. Mr James Robert Johnston, one of the early settlors in the Cheltenham district, dropped down dead while walking round the verandah of his house this morning. He was 83 years old, and suffered from a weak heart. Deceased came from Victoria and landed at Nelson. lie went to Canterbury, where ho was one of the original directors of tlie New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association. He came to Cheltenham twenty years ago. For some years he was on the Kiwitea County Council. He leaves a grown-up family.
