MR. ALFRED HILL’S MUSIC. (Received 19, 10.15 a.m.) Sydney, July 19. Sousa, of band fame, after nearing some of Mr. Alfred Hill’s music, gave Mr. Hill a recommendation to bis Now York publishers, and also promised to assist in introducing Mr. Hill’s music in the United States. AMALGAMATION OF SAVINGS BANKS. Sydney, July 19. In the Assembly, Mr. Carmichael introduced a Bill for amalgamation of the Savings Banks. SCULLING. Sydney, July 19. The rough weather lately has interfered somewhat with Arnst and Pearce training. Both, however, arc well forward, and promise to bo in top condition on the day of the race, interest is getting keen.
A WINDING-UP ORDER. Sydney, July 19. The Court has granted sin order for winding-up Die Genersil Motor-car Co., Limited. DEATH OF A RACEHORSE. Sydney, July 19. Tin* racehorse Famous, winner of the Doncaster and Epsom Handicap, has died as a result of injuries. RAILWAY ACCIDENT. Melbourne, July 19. A train collided with a railway trolley carrying three, railway employees at Dalian. A man named Anderson was killed, one was dangerously and the other slightly injured.
