The Anglo-Japanese treaty has been renewed for ten years, the principal alteration being concerning the working of tho arbitration treaty. Sir W. Capetown, July 14. “Yolkstem,” tho official organ of General Botha’s party, suggests that it would be advantageous to Brib.ni and South' Africa if the latter wore neutral in the event of war between Britain and Germany.
The “Capo Times,” _ “Natal Mercury,” and “Natal Advertiser” ridicule “Volkstem’s” suggestion, and emphasise that South Africa is bound with Great Britain to stand or fall together.
