SOCIALISM IN FRANCE.
VIOLENT SCENES. Paris July 11. There wore violent scenes in the Chamber on a Socialist motion to reinstate railway men. M. Caillaux promised to approach the companies, hut refused to coerce them. Ho added that though he agreed with the •Social!slits’ democratic reforms he never agreed with them in regard to doreogagy, disorder and tumult. M. James hurled vituperative epithets at the deputies of the Extreme Left and the Left, and members shouted at each other. Thci o was difficulty in preventing them coming to blows. The sitting was suspended, and later a. vote of confidence in the Government was passed by 433 to 86.
