Oxford and Cambridge defeat ad Yale and Harvard Universities in an athletic competition by five events to four. In a cricket match against. Somerset, Woolley, for Kant, scored 104 and 148 (not out). Kinuoar has accepted the invitation to join the M.C.C. team. . ’ Now York, July 11. Thirteen were killed and forty-two injured in the wreck of the colonial express on the New York-Newhaven and Harford railway at Bridgeport, Connecticut.' Twenty ot the injured will probably dim At Dalles, Oregon, five persons were killed through an express going over an embankment on the Oregon trunk line.
Clifford Harmon and Augustus Post, in their balloon, had a thrilling experience in the Bennett elimination contest. 'fhey encountered a terrific thunderstorm, but both landed safely after being lost in the clouds with lightning all about them. At noon five of the contestants were still aloft.
At Los Angeles new indictments wore asked for against those charged with dynamiting the hall of tne records library, since the former indictments were quashed on a technicality.
