ARRESTED ON SHIPBOARD.

FARMER ORDERED TO PAY HIS DEBTS. (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, July 13. A North Island farmer- named Michael Daniel Murphy was arrested on the Drayton Grange at Lyttelton today for debt just as the vessel was about to leave for South America and England. The claims were for £BB, commission on the sale of his farm, for which judgment had been obtained, and £6 cash adyauggcl, , Murphy Was taken balers a Magistrate at Christchurch, and ordered to pay the amount claimed forthwith, in default two months’ imprisonment. Ho was in possession of a draft for £350 on a London bank when taken in custody.
