Mew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.’s Report. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch, report:—We hold a dealing sale" at Mr H. P. Webber’s on 5Hi July, as advertised, at his property on the Mountain Road, near Stratford. Thorp was an exceptionally huge attendance of from 1(30 to 170, from Toko, Midhirst, Cardiff, Stratford, Ngaire, Eltbara, Kapouga, Norman by, Hawerai, and Kapiini. Mrs Webber laid a verV nice lunch which was much relished by those present, after which Mr Bucld announced the starting of the sale, commencing with the sundries, which were keenly competed for and realised full market values as follows Grass mower 1055,8 hay fake 955, plough 102 s 6d, hill-side plough 355, disc harrows 117 s 6d, tine harrows 325, chain harrows 535, milk cans 17s, etc., after which the pigs were disposed of, a sow with young at foot making 100 s, 1 sow 92s 6d, pedigree sow 97s 6d, boar 245; hoggets made up to 9s Id, and Angora goats from 44s to 52s fed per pair. The herd of dairy cows were of well-known quality, and were exceptionally keenly competed for, 32 cows making an 'average of £J.n ss, which, we think, constitutes a record for the district up to the present time this- season. One caw sold at £l3 7s (3d, 2 at £l3, and the others downwards ,to £7 1.7 s (3d, while a few cows, in milk and backward, made from £5 to £G os. There was a. nice line of 2-vcar-old heifers, Jersey cross, which were well competed for by local speculators am! farmers, the first choice of 5 falling to a. local speculator at 1355, the next three realising 120 s, and the balance 32s 6d. A pedigree Jersey bull was bought in by the owner, at 20 guineas. ■Altogether, the sale was an exceptionally good one, anil both vendor and buyers scorned pleased sifter the sale with their operations.
