OBITUARY.
MR. C. 0. N. BARRON. (Per Press Association) Wellington, July 10. Mr. C. C. A. Barron, for nearly twenty years chief of the Aew Zealand Hansard stall', until his retirement some years ago, died at iris residence in Wellington to-day, aged )6 years, ivu. ilai run was a native of Waterford, Ireland, and was educated there and on the Continent. He held the position of interpreter during the Crimean War. Afterwards he joined the service of the P. and O. Company as purser. In ISGT he arrived at Auckland and joined the editorial stall of the “New Zealander” newspaper. When the seat of Government was moved to Wellington he accented the editorship of the New Zealand “Advertiser," and a year later was asked by the Government of the day to organise a Mansard staff, in 18GJ. he was married to Miss A. .1. Curtiss, daughter of Mr. W. 15. Curtiss, of alley. He is survived by furs. Barron and three sons—Messrs. Winston Barron (Bank of Australasia, Napier), Nugent Barron (Fcilding), and N. Bail on (Wellington), and two daughters.
