BLACKBEETLES AND GRASSHOPPERS. (Received 5, 8.5 a.m.) Ottawa, July 4. Blackbeetles and grasshoppers in Southern Manitoba are devastating tlie grain and potato crops. CRASHED INTO A FENCE. o AN AUTOMOBILIST INJURED. (Received 5, 8.5 a.m.) New York, July 4. Frey, automobilist, while practising speed at Brighton Beach, crashed into a fence, and the automobile overturned, pinning Frey beneath. His injuries are probably fatal. The mechanician escaped. SABOTAGE IN FRANCE. (Received 5, 9.15 a.m.) Paris, July 4. M. Angunenr, Independent Socialist, now Minister of Works, was warmly applauded for a speech in the Chamber of Deputies in reprobating sabotage, denouncing it as incompatible with any sane political doctrine or theory. Tlie Minister added that lie was personally determined to extirpate the evil.
