WELTER WEIGHT CHAMPION(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, July 3. The secretary of the Wanganui Association has written to the New Zealand Boxing Council, stating that the welter-weight professional championship was not at stake when W. B. Burns and D. Murphy met at Wanganui on May 24th last. As Burns, the winner, was 2jjibe. over weight, it was decided that the title should revert to T. Tracey, of Wellington. it was also decided that it was an offence against the competition haws for a competitor to oil or grease hie face.
